WHAT COLLAR SIZE DO I NEED?
Getting the right fit for your dog's collar is extremely important. Therefore, you should not determine the size based on the current collar but by directly measuring your dog's neck circumference to ensure you get the correct collar size.
Important: Make sure your dog is standing while you take the measurement, as this will give the most accurate results.
FOR ADJUSTABLE COLLARS
We recommend using a tailor's measuring tape to measure your dog's neck circumference. If you don't have one, you can use a piece of string or a charging cable and then measure its length with a ruler. Place the measuring tape or alternative tool just behind the ears at the narrowest part of the neck. You should feel a slight indentation there. Pull the tape tight enough so that one or two fingers can fit between the neck and the tape, depending on the size of your dog's head. This measurement should give you the optimal size for the new collar and ensure your dog cannot slip out of it.
To avoid measurement errors, repeat the measurement a few times to get a reliable result. Choose the collar size so that the smallest setting of the new collar is slightly smaller than your measured result. For example, if you measured a neck circumference of 21 inches (53 cm), a collar size "G3: 19 - 23 inches (48 - 58 cm)" would be the perfect choice for your dog.
If your dog usually wears the collar lower on the neck, you can also measure the spot where the collar normally sits. This measurement should be smaller than the largest setting of the new collar - for a "G3" collar, it should be less than 23 inches (58 cm).
FOR MARTINGALE COLLARS
Martingale collars are designed to slip easily over your dog’s head and sit loosely around the neck when worn. Therefore, two measurements are required for a Martingale collar.
Neck circumference: Measure the neck circumference just behind the ears at the narrowest point where you can feel a slight indentation. The measuring tape should be snug but not tight to ensure your dog cannot slip out of the collar.
Head circumference: Measure the head circumference at the widest point over the ears. Make sure the measuring tape fits loosely over the head. To check if it fits, make a loop with the tape and pull it over your dog’s head.
To avoid measurement errors, repeat the measurements a few times to get a reliable result. Choose the size of the new Martingale collar so that it doesn’t choke your dog when tightened but also doesn’t allow your dog to slip out of it. Additionally, the head measurement should not be larger than the smallest adjustment of the collar plus 3 inches (8 cm). If your dog has a massive head (difference between measurement 2 and measurement 1 is greater than 3 inches), please let us know when ordering.
Important: Half-choke Martingale collars are only suitable for adult dogs whose neck circumference remains constant.
WHAT SIZES DO YOU OFFER?
Our standard sizes for adjustable collars range from relatively small to extremely large. However, we do not offer all collars in all sizes due to certain combinations we cannot produce. For example, very small collars often do not have enough space for a normally sized handle, or the width of the collar becomes problematic. Additionally, we only produce very large sizes with certain buckles upon request, as we cannot always guarantee their safety in extreme situations (the buckle may come undone or break).

For certain Operator and Martingale collars, we use different size charts to accommodate their specific construction.

WHAT IF MY MEASUREMENT FALLS BETWEEN SIZES?
Our collar sizes have an overlap of 1 inch (2-3 cm) between each size, ensuring you find the right fit for your dog. If you need to decide between two sizes, we recommend considering your dog’s age first. While most large breeds reach their maximum height at around 12 months, their neck and chest continue to develop until about 18 months.
For example, if your dog is 12 months old with a neck circumference of 16.5 inches (42 cm), we recommend choosing a collar size G2: 16 - 20 inches (41 - 51 cm). This allows for further growth, as your dog will likely outgrow a smaller collar.
Another important factor is your dog's weight and coat. If you expect your dog to gain or lose weight, or if they have a seasonally thick coat, consider this when selecting the collar size.

WHAT COLLAR SIZE WILL A PUPPY HAVE WHEN FULLY GROWN?
We often receive inquiries about selecting a collar size when a collar is being purchased as a gift for a puppy to wear when fully grown. While there are some guidelines based on breed standards for purebred dogs, this question can never be answered with certainty, as many factors influence growth and thus the neck circumference of an adult dog.
We strongly advise against such purchases and recommend giving a gift certificate instead. Apart from measuring the neck circumference, there is no reliable method to determine the size of a collar accurately. Guessing or estimating based on the sizes of older siblings or the measurements of the parents usually results in incorrect purchases.
